Every year, Chelsea Denise Uy’s closest family and friends cannot wait for her birthday to arrive.

After all, at only age 8, she has already earned the reputation of throwing the most fabulous and creative parties this side of town with themes like High School Musical and Parisian Par-tea. Last year, she and her dearest chums even staged an elaborate fashion show to celebrate the well-loved little fashionista’s 7^th birthday.

This year’s impressive birthday affair was no exception. During a recent trip to Japan, Chelsea together with her loving parents, Dennis and Cherylyn, visited the famous Sanrio Puroland—the mecca of Sanrio aficionados. Chelsea had so much fun at the theme park that when they started planning for her 8^th birthday, she immediately suggested, “Why not have a Sanrio theme?”.Mommy Cherylyn was only too happy to oblige to Chelsea’s request for she herself was a die-hard Sanrio fan when she was her only daughter’s age.

As guests entered the grand ballroom of Marco Polo Hotel, they were amazed and awed at the sight of a cornucopia of popular Sanrio characters like Hello Kitty, Little Twin Stars, My Melody, Kerropi, Sweet Coron, Pekkle, Cinnamoroll, Purin and a whole lot more!

No Sanrio stone was left unturned as Mommy Cherylyn with the expert assistance of master party coordinator and decorator Noel Tanza and other suppliers incorporated the endearing Sanrio characters on the delightful backdrop, balloons, table centerpieces, ceiling work, cakes, pastries, souvenirs as well as the kiddie salon, glitter tattoo, ISticker and photo booths.

Party Perks’ Manila host Sugus brought thrill and excitement to the party as he facilitated games for the active kids. On the other hand, the prizes’ station overflowed with a myriad of Sanrio products such as stuffed toys, mugs, coloring/writing sets, thermos jugs, bowls, hair accessories, wallets, containers, towels, slippers and other memorabilia. For the avid Sanrio collector, the prizes’ station was the ultimate Sanrio showcase.

In addition, adorable life-sized Hello Kitty, My Melody and Cinnamoroll mascots were especially flown in from Manila to grace Chelsea’s spectacular Sanrio affair.

One of the highlights during the celebration was the well-applauded mini concert staged by Chelsea and her friends. Donning her elegant baby pink gown created by young and talented Manila-based designer Debbie Co, the all-girl group performed their favorite songs by Taylor Swift and Katy Perry while being accompanied by the Bird’s Eye Band.

That magical night, Chelsea was the perfect picture of joy and contentment as her supportive parents fulfilled her “Sanrio wishes and Hello Kitty dreams”!
