"Kickin’ Kung Fu Panda party"
Sun.Star Davao, Sept. 13, 2008

When Kyan Marcus Te Evangelista turned one recently, his doting parents Kent and Janet “Netnet” Evangelista hosted a fantastic Kung Fu Panda-themed party attended by their family and friends at the Regency Inn Grand Ballroom.

“We absolutely loved the Kung Fu Panda movie and so does Kyan. So, when we were preparing for our son’s first birthday party, my husband and I wanted something that Kyan would appreciate and recognize. Kung Fu Panda was an obvious choice”, shares pretty mom Netnet.

Like any hands-on mom, Netnet wanted to make the celebration unforgettable and extra special for her charming child. She saw to it that the chosen theme would be reflected in the different elements of the party.

Blue Fairy did the playful and vibrant Kung Fu Panda birthday invitations while Netnet’s talented sister-in-law Dyan Nuere-Te’s colorful balloon decorations featuring the smash hit movie’s characters such as Po, Viper, Monkey, Mantis, Shifu, Tigress and Crane, contributed to the festive air of the party.

Dressed in a panda costume, the bubbly host from Bonjee Clowns entertained the crowd with his funny antics and facilitated the thrilling party games to the delight of both children and adults.

In addition, the guests had a blast posing at the Kung Fu Panda-inspired photo booth by Imagine Foto Fun.

Aside from the sumptuous dinner, Kent and Netnet got party favorites Potato Corner, Shoti Fishballs and Super Scoop Ice Cream as additional treats for the 140 adults and 60 kids who graced the affair.

One of Davao’s pioneering cake shops, Cecils’ Bakeshop, provided the delectable red and yellow mocha-flavored birthday cake with Po, Kung Fu Panda’s lead character, as its central decoration.

Fabulous give-aways included trendy denim bags accentuated with buttons, butterflies, stars and flowers and filled with yummy candies and exciting toys.

After preparing for their firstborn’s important milestone for two months, the proud parents were relieved, happy and satisfied when the party was finally over. And, what a kickin’ Kung Fu Panda party it turned out to be!

Special thanks to Imagine Foto Fun for the party photos.
