Turning 18 is a momentous occasion in anyone's life, and Johanna Paula Estrada celebrated her transition into adulthood in the most enchanting way.

Known for her passion for baking, cooking, playing sports, and traveling, the Senior High School STEM student from San Pedro College of Davao (Main Campus) is a beloved figure among her friends and family. Her remarkable journey has been marked by academic excellence and active involvement in her school's Supreme Student Government.

Johanna's parents, Jason Joseph “Cocoy” and Grace Estrada, along with her three brothers, Raymund Joseph Thaddeus “Thad”, Peter Thomas, and James Daniel “JD”, were determined to make her 18th birthday party a truly unforgettable experience. After much anticipation and a year-long preparation, the day finally arrived, and it was time for the festivities to commence.

The chosen theme for Johanna’s birthday party was inspired by Coco Chanel's famous quote, "A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous." This sentiment resonated deeply with Johanna, and she wanted her celebration to reflect these qualities as she embraced adulthood surrounded by three hundred of her loved ones.

As the guests entered the Davao Convention and Trade Center ballroom, they were met with a breathtaking sight. A tunnel adorned with vibrant flowers and a white cherry blossom tree welcomed them, setting the stage for the whimsical atmosphere that awaited. The VIP tables were poshly arranged, featuring pink suede chairs and an abundance of imported flowers, including tulips and delicate baby's breath.

The decorations, a combination of floral and fairytale themes, were skillfully brought to life by Noel Tanza of Golden Touch. Johanna's request for a "tasteful and chic" ambiance was stylishly captured through a balance of light and dark colors in the flower arrangements. Shades of light and powdered pink were mixed with hints of red, creating a dreamy atmosphere. Golden accents, from the flowers to the chandeliers, added a touch of royalty to the overall décor.

Johanna's impressive gown was designed by the ultra-talented Maizy Colleen. The red ballgown featured a long trail and was meticulously crafted with 3D flowers on lace encrusted in Swarovski crystals and hand-beaded Japanese glass-cut embellishments. The backless style and the royal cathedral-length train added to the princess-like feel.

The cake, an edible masterpiece crafted by the brilliant Honey Loyola, was a sight to behold. A four-layer marbled pink fondant cake adorned with edible flowers and golden butterflies stood as the centerpiece of the dessert table. Honey's attention to detail and artistic flair ensured that every slice was not only delicious but also visually stunning.

Johanna’s father Cocoy opened the evening with heartfelt words, expressing gratitude for the gift of life, family, and friends. Her mother, Grace, touched the hearts of everyone present as she graced the 18 candles, reminding her daughter that she would always be their little princess. Meanwhile, Johanna's brother, Thad, delivered a touching speech, emphasizing his only sister’s role as an inspiration in his life, leaving everyone moved by their strong bond.

Undoubtedly, the cotillion was the highlight of the evening, fulfilling a long-cherished dream for Johanna and her friends. Although they had missed their high school prom due to the pandemic, she decided to recreate the magical experience on her 18th birthday. Joined by her dearest friends, the debutant took to the dance floor, swaying gracefully to the rhythm of Taylor Swift's "Lover”.

As Johanna embarks on her journey into adulthood, she does so surrounded by the love and support of her family and friends, ready to embrace the future with grace and fabulousness, just as Coco Chanel had envisioned.
