Tofi's 1st mini car show b-day

"Tofi’s 1st mini car show b-day”

Sun.Star Davao, July 3, 2010

All roads led to Davao Convention and Trade Center as Ralph Kristoffer “Tofi” Uy Tayactac celebrated his fabulous 1st Mini Car Show Birthday recently.

It was a birthday party like no other as my dear high school friend Karen Uy Tayactac and his talented architect-husband Raffy showcased various life-size mini cars alongside the impressive car-themed decorations prepared by top-notch party organizer Annie Paz-Lim.

"Raffy likes collecting cars. During the time we were planning for Tofi’s birthday party, he was passionate in restoring his mini cooper. So, we decided to use it as the theme”, explains Karen. The well-loved couple was finally blessed with their adorable Tofi after nine years of marriage.

At the entrance of the ballroom, Raffy’s classic blue mini cooper was proudly displayed inside a bright red matchbox-style box with the words, “It’s more fun in a mini...”. The same decoration was used as the backdrop of the guests for the fun souvenir photos.

Joy and Moi Ramirez of Cake Temptations superbly created the three-dimensional blue mini cooper birthday cake which was surrounded with Isai Bondal’s delectable cupcakes bearing edible traffic stop lights, wheels, traffic cones and stop signs.

Beside the show-stopping cake were good friend Ryan Gaw’s mini cooper cars in black and yellow. At the opposite side of ballroom was another mini automobile, a Mercedez Benz
Smart car owned by Raffy’s father-in-law Ireneo Uy and good friend Nathaniel Tan.

The high speed celebration began with Raffy, Karen and Tofi entering DAVCON’s ballroom in style using their beloved mini cooper. Talk about a dramatic entrance!

Tofi’s baptismal godparents Tom and Erica Arellano did a fantastic job hosting the affair. Ice breakers included “Find the Car Sticker” and “Guess How Many Wheels in a Jar” while the ‘fast and the furious’ games included Go Kart Racing, Remote Control Race and Obstacle Course.

Exciting car-themed game booths, food carts serving chips, oatmeal cookies, ice cream and chocolate drinks and the grand buffet kept the 120 adult and 70 kiddie party guests entertained and contented throughout the evening.

Special guests completing the night were Karen’s elder sister Dr. Katherine Uy Villanueva with husband Engr. Banjo Villanueva and kids Miko, Jiko and Jana together with Tita Ne delos Santos and niece Myka Villanueva who flew in from Manila. Raffy’s Cebu-based parents Butch and Eileen Tayactac also graced the happy and memorable occasion.

Paul Smith mini cooper-inspired messenger bags by Imee Del Prado-Sindao’s Party Favorz served as the cool party give-aways.
