“Dive into the dark under the sea with Eli”
SunStar Davao, July 1, 2023
It was a magical night filled
with excitement, laughter, and love as Eliseo Franco "Eli" Acla, the
adorable little son of Ceejay "CJ" and Christine Joy "Tine"
Acla, recently celebrated his first birthday with a Dark Under the Sea theme at
the Davao Convention and Trade Center.
The unique theme was a stroke of genius, as it transformed the party venue into an underwater wonderland, giving a masculine twist to the usual pastel and mermaid-inspired parties.
As the guests arrived at the venue, they were greeted by a sight straight out of a maritime adventure. Khim Cruz, the talented event stylist, transformed the space into a breathtaking underwater spectacle. The centerpiece was a towering, wrecked ship, its masts reaching for the ceiling; with giant squid arms wrapped around the vessel adding an air of mystery and intrigue.
To create a realistic underwater effect, SR Audio Lights and Sounds incorporated a moving reflection of water throughout the venue. The constantly shifting lights replicated the mesmerizing play of sunlight on the ocean floor, immersing guests in the enchanting atmosphere.
Mommy Tine, looking like a glamorous mermaid, donned a serpentina gown in bright pink and blue hues, a playful nod to the underwater theme. Colleen Sandoval, her makeup artist, used pearls as part of her eyeshadow and added shimmering paint to her hair and skin, making her truly resemble a mythical sea creature.
Meanwhile, Daddy CJ embraced the role of Poseidon, the mighty god of the sea, while baby Franco stole the show as a mischievous little pirate. Lorena Dayag, the costume designer, brought their characters to life with impeccable attention to detail.
The party host, the charismatic Khael Fortalejo Duterte, kept the energy high throughout the event. With his witty banter and interactive games, he had the children and adults alike enthralled and entertained.
The invitations, crafted by
Lucky Cat Press, beautifully captured the essence of the Dark Under the Sea
theme. A simple e-vite was sent to most guests, while a printed version was
kept as a special keepsake for the Acla family.
No birthday celebration is complete without a show-stopping cake, and the one for Baby Eli was no exception. The four-tier masterpiece featured an intricately crafted octopus in the center, seemingly carrying the tiers above, surrounded by vibrant underwater creatures and elements. It was a true work of art by Desserts Bar Davao.
The suppliers and organizers
played a crucial role in making this celebration a resounding success. Raymond
Muldez and Co. flawlessly coordinated the event, ensuring that every detail was
executed to perfection. Kethley Uy, the talented photographer, and ODS
Productions, the videographer, preserved the precious moments. The extraordinary
talents of Maizy Colleen and Ivan Lopez also contributed to the stunning looks
of the Acla family. Boxify provided delightful giveaways, while Mixed
Temptations tantalized guests with their exquisite mobile bar.
In addition, Photobooth by Davao Photomatik captured joyful memories, and Partypopular by Hansel and Allaine offered enticing food carts. Dalag Arts brought out the inner artist in everyone with their art-making activity, and Fun for Tots provided an inflatable playground that added a playful touch to the festivities.
Undoubtedly, one of the highlights of the party was the mesmerizing LED tunnel that greeted the guests. A vibrant array of colors and shapes danced before their eyes, immersing them in the spellbinding ambiance of an underwater world. It was a sight that left both children and adults in awe, igniting their imaginations and fueling their sense of wonder.
In a heartfelt birthday message, Mommy Tine expressed her boundless love and wishes for her son. She expressed gratitude for the precious gift of Eli and vowed to be there for him throughout his journey.
