Jamie Sofia Mangaoil used to be a shy young girl. But her burning passion for singing opened a whole new wonderful world for her.
She first studied music with
Teacher Jay Rivera in her younger years. In high school, Jamie joined the Evangel
Songsters and successfully competed in the Busan Choral Festival in South
Korea. At 14 years old, the talented lady became part of the highly acclaimed Songspell
Philippines and was blessed to join their US musical tour for a month.
Jamie who is the second daughter of Dr. James Edward Mangaoil and Sharon Ferrer-Mangaoil recently turned 18, and what a fitting way to celebrate this special milestone than a birthday concert with her close family and friends at Instagrill.
Wearing a glorious red gown which was a thoughtful gift from Hawaii-based grand aunt Tessie Domingo, Jamie fabulously opened the party with the songs “Don’t Forget Me” and “Let Me Be Your Star” from “Smash-The Musical”. She also performed a medley of Miss Saigon’s “Sun and Moon” and “Last Night of the World” with her fellow Songspeller Angelo Pondias.
The crowd which was composed
of Jamie’s friends was delighted when she enchantingly sang a compilation of
all her favorite Barbie songs with her former schoolmate Maraya Virata. The
well-loved tunes brought them back to their fondest memories from childhood.
Jamie’s debonaire grandfather Dr. Lesley Mangaoil and her dad Jed, who both possess good vocal pipes as well, joined the birthday concert and serenaded the charming debutante.
As part of the debut tradition, granddad Lesley, Aldo Pelayo, Kendric Pelayo, Enzo Zamora, Cedric Hibaya, Adame Alvarez, Yoshua Ho, Gabriel Teves, Luis Mahipus, Zac Go, Miguel Pareja, Angelo Pondias, and dad Jed presented roses as they danced with the darling debutante.
Meanwhile, Sam Soriano, Anne Mangaoil-Pelayo, Maria Elena Ferrer, Maria Elena Mangaoil, Helenna Dela Cerna, Andrea Ybañez, Maraya Virata, Kassandra Uy, Shekinah Fortich, Nala Bajado, Erika Panotes, Koi Sevilla, Brigitte Ansaldo together with mom Sharon gave their short tributes to Jamie as they lighted their candles in a touching ceremony.
“To my daughter Jamie, you make me so proud whenever you perform on stage. My heart swells with pride whenever I hear you sing. You have a big and generous heart, and I am proud of what you have become,” mommy Sharon gratefully expressed in her speech.
